The Eightieth Royal Jump Infantry was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army. It was one of the SLDF's Royal units, which consisted of troops from the Terran Hegemony.
History[edit]
In 2764, the unit was assigned, as a part of V Corps, Eleventh Army, to District 1 of the Lyran Commonwealth Military Region and then transferred to District 3 by 2765.[2]
The Eightieth took part in the winter fighting for Moscow in January 2777. Its jump-capable BattleMechs and light armor were not affected by the frozen rivers in the area, allowing them to push against the defending Thirty-third Amaris Dragoons and secure the river crossings.[3]
The Eightieth survived the war and the Hegemony Campaign, and followed General Aleksandr Kerensky on the Exodus in 2784.[2]

As an SLDF Jump Infantry division, the Eightieth would have been formed from two brigades of Jump Troops, one brigade of BattleMech regiments, and two ground aero wings.[4]
