History[edit]
Educated at the Warrior's Hall, in 3068 the young Lal was seconded to the Twentieth Avalon Hussars' Eighth Company (a.k.a. "The Crazy Eights") as an Acting-Subaltern and served with the unit during Operation SOVEREIGN JUSTICE. When the Twentieth was devastated on Randar by a Capellan counterattack, Lal was one of the few survivors, and the only remaining member of the Crazy Eights.[1] [2]
By Operation MATADOR in 3081 Lal had risen to battalion command. His superb leadership in that conflict and service as military tutor to future First Prince Harrison Davion ensured Lal's eventual rise to the position of Marshal of the Armies in 3110. His tenure was brief, however, as Lal retired just three years later due to differences of opinion with Harrison about the Suns' defense strategy.[1]
Lal never forgot the first unit he had served with and as Marshal was able to have the Twentieth Avalon Hussars resurrected as an LCT. He also looked after any members of the unit, both past and present.[2] [1]
BattleMechs[edit]
During Operation SOVEREIGN JUSTICE Lal piloted a PPR-5T Salamander. [3]
