The Alorton system is the location of at least one inhabited world, and as of June 3152 was located in the Duchy of Tamarind-Abbey in the Free Worlds League.[2]

Alorton was one of some fifty-one heavily contested worlds to have been placed under Terran Hegemony authority as a jointly administered world during the Age of War or Star League era. During the First Succession War Alorton once more became a flashpoint between the Free Worlds League and Lyran Commonwealth.[38]
