A quiet, reserved man who was always sharply-dressed while off-duty, Captain Cwiklik served as Earthwerks' chief test pilot for twenty-five years as of 3150. After fifteen years in service of the Republic of the Sphere, Cwiklik came to Earthwerks in search of a new challenge and lead the company's test pilots with a fatherly-but-firm hand. Cwiklik also turned the test pilot program into something of a family affair, as his son Dan served under him, but he went to great lengths to avoid any displays of favoritism. While age had dulled Ciwklik's reflexes, his intelligence and experiences continued to prove their worth as he analyzed each piece of prototype equipment far beyond normal requirements. Only after passing Cwiklik's scrutiny would a BattleMech begin its shakedown trials and, while accidents still happened, his efforts ensured no pilot was ever killed or seriously injured during his time working for Earthwerks.[1]
