Anson McDaniel was a company commander in the First Federated Suns Armored Cavalry during Operation BULLDOG.[1]

Captain McDaniel's ad hoc company of the First FSAC landed on the Clan Smoke Jaguar-occupied world of Virentofta as part of the Federated Suns' Operation BIRD DOG raids. Disguised as the fictitious McDaniel's Group, McDaniel's jump-capable BattleMechs ran circles around the Jaguars' 151st Garrison Cluster. In particular, McDaniel's Centurion's contributed heavily to the unit's success by acquiring information on the Jaguars' defenses and by raiding enemy supply caches, leading the 151st Garrison to stretch itself thinly across the planet. With additional support from the planet's populace, the FSAC soldiers were able to survive for a full month until relief forces arrived during Operation BULL DOG's second wave. Unfortunately, the isolated Jaguar warriors elected to fight to the death when facing the follow-up troops and dealt a number of costly blows before the battle's conclusion.[1]
