Anton Kaiman was a privateer and captain of the Star League era Tramp-class JumpShip Sanibel.[1]

History[edit]

Early Life[edit]

Kaiman spent his entire life in space, serving as a helmsman before he rose to captain of a JumpShip around 3037.[1][2]

His main area of operation was the region of space home to the Lyran Melissia and Timbuktu Theaters, once part of the Rim Worlds Republic. At some point before 3057, Kaiman discovered here an old RWR space station in salvageable condition and decided to reactivate it.[2][3][4]

PEn-NAM Raid[edit]

In May 3057, Kaiman launched a raid against the PEn-NAM space habitat in the Viborg asteroid belt to obtain vital parts and workers needed for the repair of his habitat. The raid was a success, as his people were able to capture enough supplies, equipment, and skilled techs to get the old station up and running.[5]

At that time, Kaiman liked to create the false impression that his deeds were committed by (or that he was working for) the notorious space pirate "Red Eye" Laudin.[1][3]

Collaboration with Chaos Irregulars[edit]

During the Chaos Irregulars contract to hunt pirates for a four-world coalition - including Engadine, Swartklip, Main Street, and Elume - in late 3067, Kaiman provided the transport assets for the coalition and its mercenaries.[2]

Naval Assets[edit]

Kaiman's organization included at least the following ships in November 3067:[4]

The fleet was supplemented by aerospace fighters and a lance of BattleMechs.

Notes[edit]

  • Even though Kaiman described himself as a privateer, which implies a commission from a sovereign entity, it remains unclear which entity or organization he refers to. Particularly as the resources at his disposal are extensive. Some hints might suggest a Rim Worlds Republic connection.
