Antwerp V, more commonly referred to simply as Antwerp, was the fifth planet in the Antwerp system and home to the only known major Bordello Military Goods, Inc. industrial plant.
Planetary History[edit]
In 3073,[5] forces from Clan Ice Hellion raided Antwerp, which was the home base of Regional Defense Force 2; the superior Clan weaponry more than compensated for the superior numbers RDF 2 could field, and as a result while the defensive forces successfully drove the Ice Hellions off, the RDF took more than fifty percent casualties in the process. Despite the losses taken, the surviving personnel took great pride in having driven off the "Clan invaders."[7]
In 3079, Antwerp was the site of the only military manufacturing plant in the Hanseatic League.[1]
In the early thirty-second century, the construction of Lüneburg Vehicle Corporation on Braunschweig allowed the League to expand their garrison to include heavier units and its success led to the establishment of HDF Manufacturing on Falsterbo and the expansion of the Bordello factory on Antwerp.[8]
Hanseatic Crusade[edit]
During Escorpión Imperio's conquest of the League in 3140–3141, Regional Defense Force Four was hurried to Antwerp to protect Bordello Military Goods. This proved inconsequential, as the Clan's touman bypassed the Hansa's border worlds in Wave 3 to strike at interior systems.[9] After the fall of Hansa's capital Bremen in October 3140, Alpha and Hellion Galaxies moved to secure the worlds that had been spared up to that point. Militias and mercenaries on Antwerp refused to yield despite Captain-Marshal Rudolf Schmidt's nation-wide surrender order. Mines, artillery, and other fortifications stymied the Scorpions for two months. All remaining Hanseatic League systems would surrender or be conquered by April 3141.[2]
Military Deployment[edit]
3067[edit]
- Regional Defense Force 2 (Regular/Reliable)[4]
- - The RDF 2 was at full strength; fifteen percent of the RDF were using advanced equipment.
3079[edit]
- - The RDF2 was operating at 50% strength, with 15% of their equipment featuring upgraded technology.[7]
3140[edit]
Geography[edit]
