Archimedes Patel was the commanding officer of the White Forty independent company of the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns during the Dark Age Era.[1]

Captain Patel was commander of White Forty, an all-volunteer company of hovercraft comprised of survivors from Capellan March units that had been destroyed in battle against the Capellan Confederation. Patel's men were tasked with dropping onto Capellan-occupied New Syrtis in order to support local resistance groups, although critics pointed out how the ammunition needs of Patel's machines would likely prove a significant problem for any long-term operation. For his part, Patel had full confidence that his unit would be able to scavenge enough munitions to last until the beginning of the Federated Suns' liberation of the world.[1]
