History[edit]
Dumont was reputed to a by-the-book officer, who while excellent at implementing established tactics, was slow to adopt new ones.[2]
He was also notably protective of both his family and his troops. This was both a blessing and a curse for his daughter Christine Dumont, who was repeatedly denied entry into the Dragoons by her concerned father, and who had a marriage suitor Sergeant Mohammar Jahan banished by the Major to die in the Black Widow Company.[1][3]
Dumont commanded Charlie Battalion prior to Anton Marik's Revolt, during which his troops bore the brunt of the Fourth Regulan Hussars betrayal on Vanra in 3014, losing the majority of his Second Company during the engagement.[4]
Following the Battle of Misery, when the Dragoons' losses forced them to reorganize, Dumont became the commander of Gamma Regiment's Fourth Provisional Company.
The Major distinguished himself during the Fifth Battle of Harrow's Sun, where his provisional company destroyed an entire battalion of the Eighth Galedon Regulars, but he perished before the Dragoons were able to leave that world when his 'Mech exploded after taking tremendous damage against overwhelming odds.[1][2][5][6]
BattleMech[edit]
Dumont was known to pilot a BattleMaster BattleMech.[1]
