Baccalieu is located near the Ballalaba and Suetonius systems.[1][2]
System History[edit]
It is unclear when the Baccalieu system was colonized, but with the founding of the Marian Hegemony in 2920, Baccalieu began appearing on maps produced by Inner Sphere nations,[3] indicating that the system had become significant enough to merit being recorded.

Planetary History[edit]
In or around 3144, a slaver operation from Baccalieu raided the Magistracy of Canopus world of Ballad II, abducting over a thousand Magistracy citizens. This prompted the Magistracy Armed Forces to dispatch the First Magistracy Highlanders on a series of punitive deep raids into the Hegemony. The Highlanders spent almost a year working independently, smashing the slaver operation on Baccalieu and recovering all of the abducted citizens.[33]
