Dates[edit]

Scaletail, can I also add that the dates should be linked as well? That makes it much easier to find and add to the appropriate date page. Locis 08:56, 2 February 2008 (CST)

Sure. --Scaletail 21:39, 3 February 2008 (CST)

Galleon[edit]

I have submitted the Galleon info. I will have to get to a scanner for the pic.— The preceding unsigned comment was posted by BadDawg75 (talkcontribs) 14:37, 20 February 2008.

C3 categories[edit]

I am working on filling out C3 categories for Vehicles like the ones Mecha already have, but I was wondering where in the list of categories to put them. Should it be in with the roles before faction or should I be placing them at the end? I was also wondering if it is appropriate to create categories for other special electronics such as TAG or ECM. I'm not a big fan of categories for specific pieces of equipment. MediaWiki is not the best technology for sorting. It's not a database, so, even properly cataloged, it's impossible to (for example) search for any unit that has C3 in a given weight class. I suppose the real question is why we would need categories for specific pieces of equipment. --Scaletail 23:54, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
I guess I can see that for the other electronics. From my point of view, though, the presence of C3 is a huge part of a unit role since you have to operate multiples for the equipment to do any good. I have found the C3 category to be somewhat useful for finding mechs that could work together, I figured maybe I could bring some of that utility over to vehicles. If that was in error, I shall remove the categories. A database would be much better, but we don't have one of those, I figured some more categories could be of some help. Additionally, my thought was that stuff like weaponry and targeting computers are general use so categorizing them is somewhat pointless, but things like ECM and BAP are frequently special use equipment brought to fulfill specific missions on the battlefield, so they might benefit from being pointed out in the same manner as pointing out a unit's role.BirdofPrey 00:21, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

Clarification[edit]

Are ships (the traditional water vessels) considered under the heading of this project? -BobTheZombie (talk) 19:18, 18 September 2013 (PDT)

According to the combat vehicle article, blue-water naval vessels fall under that heading. Since this project encompasses all combat vehicles, I would say, "Yes." When I created this project, I sought only a name that would allow it to encompass more than the BattleMechs project. I guess I should have thought a bit harder to come up with a name that would cause less confusion. --Scaletail (talk) 16:56, 20 September 2013 (PDT)
Okay, thanks. I found a few ship articles that had it but wanted to be sure before doing it for every one of them. -BobTheZombie (talk) 21:34, 20 September 2013 (PDT)

Armament section heading[edit]

Per this discussion on the BattleMechs project, the "Armament" section heading was changed to "Weapons and Equipment". I propose doing the same for all articles that fall under the purview of this project. Unless there are objections, I will change the project guidelines. --Scaletail (talk) 18:42, 17 December 2013 (PST)
