How to deal with Phonebook Entries[edit]
In the gallery above, you will see a screenshot of a spreadsheet I made showing what was in Project Orphanage--plus Special:LonelyPages--on March 5, 2022. As of that date, 3,132 articles on Sarna.net come under Project Orphanage in some fashion. Of those, 2,383 are what many call "Phonebook Articles": characters who are listed in some sourcebook and given a page of their own. As of this writing, that is 1 out of every 14.89 articles on Sarna--none of them linked from anywhere except the Project Orphanage Roster pages. Lately, an average of ten new ones shows up in the orphans each day, and I just add them to the rosters.
I propose that we seek some consensus on how to handle these. I do not, at this time, have a specific solution. Some that come to mind are: organize those roster pages so people can search by time period and/or unit. Or: create company-level pages, being careful not to duplicate the full information in the sourcebook. Or: change the consensus on those minor characters and do some mass deletions. Or: leave them as they are, maybe someone will find a use for them later. All of these have been brought up as possibilities at some point, and there may be other solutions.
