Prelude[edit]
In 3058 the Maskirovka discovered that the Thuggee cult had infiltrated Warrior House Ijori. Seeking to purge the House through attrition in a similar manner as Warrior House Lu Sann was the Chaos March, Grand Master Ion Rush and Strategic Director Talon Zahn decided to loan House Ijori the Arc-Royal Defense Cordon[1]
Overview[edit]
Eager to test their mettle (and high tech BattleMechs) against the Clans, House Ijori targeted Goat Path and the Viper Fusiliers for a raid. During the two weeks of cat-and-mouse as the two sides sought a decisive advantage. The solid platform of the Incubus proved very effective in stymieing the technical advantage the newer Capellan ’Mechs enjoyed. Neither side ever gained an edge and they simply bloodied each other before House Ijori left the planet.[1][2][3][4]
Outcome[edit]
The blooding House Ijori received did not purge the Thuggee threat, indeed it only enmeshed it more deeply as surviving Thugees moved up to senior ranks to replace losses. This would come back to haunt the Inner Sphere during the Black May attacks two years later.[1]
