Following the unprovoked attack on Alshain, individual Clusters of Clan Ghost Bear ranged across the Draconis Combine border, hitting targets as deep as Schuyler and Luzerne in what would be known as the First Combine-Dominion War.[1]

Overview[edit]

The Seventeenth Recon Regiment had been hired to protect Tanadi Computers holdings on Luzerne.[2] When the First Bear Regulars landed, Second Battalion under Force Commander Maccabee Bar-Kochba moved to oppose the landings. The first engagements utterly decimated the battalion, costing Bar-Kochba's life.[3] Lieutenant Rosita Ramirez's battle fury allowed her to survive, and her refusal to give up despite all odds later earned her some fame.[4]

In retaliation for the destruction of the Second Battalion, several scout elements including several Hitman ’Mechs spotted for a blistering artillery barrage that gutted the Bears. Lieutenant Duane Montablan gleefully rained down a carpet of death on the Bears.[3]

Outcome[edit]

Despite their losses, the Seventeenth Recon managed to drive the First Bears from Luzerne

Notes[edit]

  • As few events in the First Combine-Dominion War are currently dated, this conflict might have occurred in 3063. Future sources are expected to shed light on this.
  • The Eighth Sword of Light might have been present for this battle, or they might have already departed for their raids on Jezersko and last Frontier.[5]
