Overview[edit]
The defenses of Marlette included the ostensibly impregnable Fort Bourgogne. Fort Bourgogne was successfully raided by forces from McCarron's Armored Cavalry twice, first in 3022. To advance on the fortress, the attackers had to cross the Bern River at the narrow Stannic Bridge, a lostech artifact spanning three miles. Archibald McCarron expressly forbade his men destroying the bridge in their assaults.[2]
