Overview[edit]
The defenses of Marlette included the ostensibly impregnable Fort Bourgogne. After a first attack in 3022 it was attacked again in 3044, after the fortress had been rebuilt and despite having its defenses improved. To advance on the fortress, the attackers had to cross the Bern River at the narrow Stannic Bridge, a lostech artifact spanning three miles. Archibald McCarron expressly forbade his men destroying the bridge during their assaults.[2]
