Overview[edit]
In 3084, the Capellan Confederation and its Canopian allies launched a raid on the Federated Suns world of New Hessen. Also present were forces of the Republic of the Sphere. Confederation forces had besieged the city of Denton, and a Republic relief column was diverted to help the beleaguered city. Ensign Alexander Rice took his STG-5T Stinger, loaded with Thunder LRMs and smoke SRMs, and began laying down enough smoke and fire that the Republic commander assumed he faced at least a lance of BattleMechs, which the Republic column lacked. The Republic forces broke off, allowing the Capellans to withdraw successfully.[1]
