Overview[edit]
In early 3150, rumors had reached the Draconis Combine that the Raven Alliance was staging on Pondicherry for an assault on New Samarkand. An small raid by a Company of the First Amphigean Light Assault Group was organized to gather intelligence. Upon landing they detected two Stars of second-line BattleMechs – one of Howlers and another of heavier Mechs – supported by a Trinary of ProtoMechs, and a Star of aerospace fighters. The First attempted to break contact to search another system for the supposed assault force, but the Howlers succeeded in cutting off the First's medium Lance form the main body and raining LRMs on them until the ProtoMechs arrived and finished them off. The second Star of BattleMechs arrived soon after, hoping to share in some of the glory only to find the medium Lance destroyed and the remaining units of the First retreated offworld.[1]
