Beran Kiel, also known as Sabnock, was the executive officer of the Word of Blake Militia's Fiftieth Shadow Division during the Jihad Era.[1]

Phantom Precentor Sigma Kiel was born on Donegal but emigrated from the Lyran Alliance to join with the Word of Blake in the 3050s. He utilized his master's degree in biochemistry to research bio-weapons for the Toyama Sect before the outbreak of the Jihad and served as a valued MechWarrior for the Word of Blake Militia. Although the exact circumstances of his ascension to the Manei Domini were not known, it was thought that Kiel was severely injured during the fighting in the Chaos March before his reappearance with the new identity of Sabnock amongst the ranks of the Fiftieth Shadow Division. As Sabnock, he had a predilection for wading into the heart of a fight and for using biochemical weaponry against unprepared opponents.[1]
