System Description[edit]

The Blackstone system was located near the Oberon VI and Zertarum systems. It was located Coreward from Terra and was home to at least one habitable world or construct.[1][2][3][4]

System History[edit]

Blackstone was either settled during the Star League era by the Rim Worlds Republic or was an already-settled system that became significant enough during this era for Inner Sphere nations to record its location on maps.[5][6][1][2]

Planetary History[edit]

Star League[edit]

Blackstone was a part of the Apollo Province of the Rim Worlds Republic at the height of the Star League.[14]

Succession Wars[edit]

By the end of the Third Succession War, Blackstone was a part of the Oberon Confederation.[16][17][25]

Clan Invasion[edit]

Following the declaration by ilKhan Leo Showers that Periphery worlds were open territory for attacks during the opening stages of Operation REVIVAL, Khan Ian Hawker of Clan Diamond Shark immediately submitted a bid to conquer Blackstone using the Diamond Keshik, the only Diamond Shark unit involved in REVIVAL at that point. Hawker's request was rebuffed by Showers, who subsequently limited the attacks to only the four primary invading Clans, although Showers did condescendingly offer a spot to Hawker in a Clan Smoke Jaguar raid during the first wave of REVIVAL - an offer Hawker rejected. The exchange of insults between Hawker and Showers went a long way towards reviving the traditional loathing between the Diamond Sharks and Smoke Jaguars and would subsequently prompt a number of damaging battles between the two Clans.[35]

In August 3049, Clan Wolf's Silver Keshik of Beta Galaxy attacked Blackstone. The defending Blackstone Guards company in their aging machines were destroyed quickly by the superior Clan troops and the world fell under Clan Wolf control.[36]

Jihad[edit]

Clan Wolf troops withdrew from Blackstone after the Jihad, but several Clan merchants arranged for technical support to be sent to Blackstone. These technicians helped to rebuild several fortresses on the world, creating a modern Castle Brian.[37]

post-Jihad[edit]

By 3095, Blackstone was a member of the New Oberon Confederation[32]

ilClan[edit]

In 3152, Blackstone was still a member of the New Oberon Confederation within The Barrens.[34]
