Introduction[edit]
- see also: Category:Bloodnames.
The following history and lists are of the known Bloodnames used by each of the Clans during the 3 different periods that they have been thus far recorded and any additions with their references. As long as it is possible we start with the record of a Clan's "Founding" Bloodnames used prior to Operation KLONDIKE, then the record of a Clan's exclusive Bloodnames that were known after Operation REVIVAL, and finally with the record of a Clan's exclusive and shared Bloodnames after the Wars of Reaving event.
Additionally the lists separate Clans by the following terms:
- "Homeworld Clan" (a Clan that primarily resides in the original holdings of the Clans), also known as Home Clans
- "Inner Sphere Clan" (a Clan that primarily resides in the Inner Sphere), also known as Invader Clans
- "Amalgamation Clan" (a merging of Clan and Inner Sphere Nations)
- "Abjured" (A Clan that is current Exiled or Abjured for Clan Society)
- "Absorbed" (A Clan that had been absorbed by another via a Trial of Absorption)
- "Annihilated" (A Clan that been that functionally no longer exists due to a Trial of Annihilation)
Wherever possible Bloodnames are marked if they are not originally from the Clan it is listed under. These Bloodnames are normally acquired from a Rite of Absorption or a Trial of Possession.
Due to unrecorded events that rendered certain Bloodnames to be removed from being listed as exclusive to a Clan, such as being Reaved, destroyed, fallen into disuse, and/or taken by another Clan. It is often impossible to find out exactly what happened to Bloodnames that no longer are listed in their original Clan after founding. If a event is known however, then you may find it in that Bloodname's page that each name links too.
History[edit]
Originally in Nicholas Kerensky's plan for his Clans, only 40 named warriors were to be included in the Clan eugenics program. However due to each Clan interpreting this plan differently Nicholas had to reach a compromise. This took form with having all the warriors that came with him in his Second Exodus becoming the elite of his new society by having their legacies and distinct surnames be immortalized as "Bloodnames". This meant that even with the inclusion of 600 legacies from loyalist civilians into the eugenics program, members of the Clans could only ever claim to be the bloodline legacy of one of the 803 distinct bloodlines of warriors. (the legacies of (Nicholas, Andery, and Jennifer Winson to give 803 distinct bloodlines though only 787 different names)[1]
Bloodnames of the Homeworld Clans[edit]
When Brett Andrews rose to the position of ilKhan, his first act was to purge the Clans of any taint contacted from the Inner Sphere. This involved targeting Blood Chapels holding those genetic legacies, either damaging or destroying them completely. Many other Blood Chapels from the Homeworlds Clans would fall to these attacks as well. Further, members of The Society had tampered with genetic legacies of many Bloodnames and released viruses that targeted specific Bloodlines.[2] After the Wars of Reaving were over, the number of Bloodnames had been devastated. In 3085, there were major 74 Bloodnames exclusive to the remaining Homeworld Clans. Additionally a number of Bloodnames have had their Bloodcounts reduced to five or less active Bloodrights.[3]

Bloodnames of the Inner Sphere Clans[edit]
Following the Invading Clans' abjuration by the Clan Council of Homeworld Clans from Clan Space during the Wars of Reaving, these Bloodnames are considered tainted due to their contact with the Inner Sphere. The remaining Inner Sphere Clans and Amalgamation Clans would form the Council of Six and share mixed Bloodnames while keeping some exclusive. At the time of that Council meeting, there were 83 Inner Sphere Clan Bloodnames in total: 68 Bloodnames remaining exclusively to each of the six clans respectively, while 18 of them would be shared between them.

Clan Smoke Jaguar[edit]
Category:Clan Smoke Jaguar Bloodnames
The Smoke Jaguars were among the most aggressive Crusader Clans. Known for their harsh treatment of their enemies and even their own lower castes, their ways would eventually come back to haunt them. Following the aftermath of the Battle of Coventry, the Inner Sphere decided that it was time to resurrect the Star League once more to end the Clan threat. After careful consideration, the reborn Star League decided to wipe out the Smoke Jaguar Clan entirely, due to a number of factors, but especially for their penchant for shocking displays of brutality; for example, the orbital razing of the city of Edo on the Draconis Combine world of Turtle Bay.
The primary Star League campaign against the Smoke Jaguars would be dubbed Operation BULLDOG, a plan to drive the Clan out of the Inner Sphere and then synch up with a long-range strike mission known as Task Force Serpent, culminating in the Jaguars' utter destruction on their homeworld of Huntress and the final act of annihilation in the Great Refusal. Surviving warriors and assets of the Smoke Jaguars were absorbed by the Second Star League or other Clans.[14]
While some of the Smoke Jaguar bloodlines were claimed by other Clans in the aftermath of the Smoke Jaguar annihilation, the majority had remained in cold storage within the massive facility constructed by the Smoke Jaguars within Mount Szabo on Huntress. In June 3072, forces from Clan Cloud Cobra and Clan Goliath Scorpion moved to Reave the latent legacies, and after seizing the enclave from the Dark Caste troops that were there, the two Clans destroyed the facility and the legacies within it via a combination of explosions within the complex and orbital bombardment. It is unclear how many of the Smoke Jaguar legacies - and in effect, Bloodnames - were rendered extinct by this act.[15]
Later it was discovered that both Smoke Jaguar legacies and Bloodlines survived through the leadership of Paul Moon. He and his Fidelis would fight the Blakists and pledge his people to the Republic of the Sphere during the Jihad. However soured relations between his group and the Republic would sever this alliance, causing Moon to propose a deal to Alaric Ward: the restoration of the Smoke Jaguars. The entire Fidelis would become bondsmen of Clan Wolf until the deed was done by defeating the Jade Falcons. Following the defeat of the Falcons, Alaric would keep his word and reconstitute Clan Smoke Jaguar with Paul Moon in attendance. As per Clan tradition, the Smoke Jaguars would fill positions for the titles of Khan, saKhan and Loremaster. The reborn Smoke Jaguars would become a nonvoting Clan however, bound to ilKhan Alaric Ward.[16]
Wolf Empire (Clan Wolf)[edit]
Category:Clan Wolf Bloodnames
During the events of the ilClan Trial, Clan Wolf-in-Exile have reintegrated with Clan Wolf proper, and are considered Wolf Empire's Omega Provisional Galaxy.[17] Bringing back the Exiles implied the potential existence of over twenty-five individuals holding diverse Bloodnames. The Abjuration of the Exiles resulted in both Wolf factions asserting complete rights to identical genetic legacies. Alaric announced that the issue of surplus Bloodnamed warriors would be addressed during Clan Wolf's upcoming Great Reaving.[18] However it is unknown if the Bloodname of Kell that was created for Phelan Kell by ilKhan Ulric Kerensky so he could lead the exiled Wolves under Clan law after their Abjuration was added or not with this reintegration.

Post–Wars of Reaving[edit]
In December 3078, the Scorpions defended Hector against a Clan Cloud Cobra assault. During the fighting at the Bright Ledge genetic research station, one salvo from a Scorpion 'Mech blew the main bridge, dropping half of the 73rd Cobra Guards into the ravine; the Cobras declared the remaining Scorpions dezgra and crushed them. Upon claiming their isorla, they discovered that the Scorpion scientists, without authorization from the Khans or the Clan Council, had been experimenting with integrating Eridani Light Horse genes into their Clan legacies. The matter was brought to the Grand Council, and a Trial of Abjuration was immediately approved. Despite this, the Clans moved slowly to carry it out, and this allowed the Scorpions to evacuate much of their assets to Waypoint 531. Any and all forces left behind in the Clan homeworlds were ultimately defeated and also resulted in the Scorpions losing exclusive claims to the Suvorov and Djerassi Bloodnames in the process. However in their escape from Clan space, they were joined by Clan Ice Hellion survivors that retreated from their failed incursion into the Inner Sphere, they would be absorbed into Clan Goliath Scorpion along with their Bloodnames.[26]

Pre-IlClan Era[edit]
The Goliath Scorpions would add to their blood legacies during their campaigns against the Deep Periphery states known as the Umayyad Caliphate, Nueva Castile and later the Hanseatic League. As these new bloodnames were not described as any given phenotype, they are all listed as general.[27][28].

- 1 Following the creation of the Escorpión Imperio, new Blood Legacies would be created using the genetic samples they took from the members of the 71st Light Horse Regiment, that they claimed in a Trial of Possession on Huntress. Two of the first new known Bloodnames were Winston and Barclay.[29][30]
- 2 The Bloodname Noye is also noted in Operational Turning Points: Hanseatic Crusade sourcebook and claimed to be "established in the appeasement effort." It is unclear if it has any direct genetic relation to the Castilian House Noye.[31][30]
- 3 The Bloodname Line is mentioned in the short story Moving Forward from Shrapnel #6. Described as a lineage of Hanseatic origin, it is the Bloodname of the Scorpion Empire with zarKhan Emmy Line confirmed as a member.[32]
- 4 In 3112, On the (later named) world of Holdout, Khan Enrico Kirov had two Bloodnames created from the warriors who survived and held out against the Hansa attack there that lasted 3 months despite being vastly outnumbered[27]. We only know of one of the new Bloodnames created was Varela[33], the other is unknown[31].
- 5 The Bloodname Schmidt was created in 3145, claiming to "honor Rudolf Schmidt's martial prowess" and as "a concession to placate the populace of the former Hanseatic League".[34]
Clan Nova Cat[edit]
Even after being Abjured by the rest of Clan society, the Nova Cats still maintained the tradition of Bloodnames and exerted control over specific Bloodlines. In the early 3140s, the Nova Cats chose to back the wrong side in a Kuritan rebellion and was annihilated as a result. The Spirit Cats and Nova Cat refugees in the Clan Protectorate are now all that remains of that once mighty clan.[35]
Bloodnames of Absorbed Clans[edit]
Clan Burrock[edit]
In 3059, Clan Star Adder uncovered a scandal from the Burrocks, showing proof of their cooperation with the Bandit Caste. As a result, a vote was carried out by the Grand Council to absorb Clan Burrock into Clan Star Adder. While the Trial of Absorption was fought between the Adders and the Burrocks, an angry Clan Blood Spirit interfered in the Trial to Annihilate both Clans. This move would backfire as both Clans combined forces to combat the Blood Spirits. After the Blood Spirits' defeat, the Burrocks willingly accepted the Adders as their captors, bringing their Bloodnames with them.[36] In 3072, the members of the former Clan began an attempt to re-form their fallen Clan, but were swiftly put down in 3074 during the Wars of Reaving.[37]
Clan Ice Hellion[edit]
The failed Operation ICE STORM (referred to as the "Hellion's Tantrum" by the Jade Falcons) of 3072 has split the Clan as a whole. One half of the fractured Clan would make raids against the Ghost Bear Dominion for parts and supplies, while the other half of the Ice Hellions fled the Inner Sphere. Upon reaching the Deep Periphery, Clan Goliath Scorpion would Absorb the weak Clan without any large combat engagements. Seeing that the weakened Clan could not survive on its own, the Hellions willingly accepted integration into their new captors. Many of their Bloodnames would be carried by the Goliath Scorpions.[39][40][3] Some Ice Hellion Bloodnames also persisted among the Cloud Cobras and the Stone Lions.[3]
Clan Mongoose[edit]
Clan Mongoose was the second-most aggressive Clan next to the Smoke Jaguars. They would always use politics and the words of Nicholas Kerensky to justify their actions to other Clans. However, their existence came to an end when they evoked the wrath of the Jaguars, who called for the right to absorb them. Although the Smoke Jaguars won, they would refuse to use the Bloodnames of these "schemers". Clan Cloud Cobra then acquired genetic legacies from 11 Mongoose Bloodnames that they use to this day.[41]
Clan Widowmaker[edit]
Wolf Khan Jerome Winson carried evidence of Clan Widowmaker's brutal treatment of their civilian and lower caste. Although the Widowmakers argued that the Wolves were manipulating them, ilKhan Nicholas Kerensky and the Grand Council would carry out the absorption of Clan Widowmaker. During the fight between Jerome and Cal, Widowmaker mechs were grouping on Khan Winson in order to save their Khan. However, tragedy struck when Cal Jorgensson shot a peering Atlas looking at him. Unknowingly, Cal had just killed Nicholas Kerensky, ilKhan of the Clans (whether the act was unintentional or deliberate is still debated). This act would send the Wolves into a frenzy and kill any living Widowmaker on sight, turning the battle into a virtual Trial of Annihilation. Despite this, the Widowmaker Bloodnames survived the aftermath (save for the Vordermark and Karrige Bloodnames) and live on within Clan Wolf. These Bloodnames would remain dormant until the aftermath of the Refusal War, which split Clan Wolf into two factions. The Crusader Wolves, needing Bloodrights to recuperate from the battle, reactivated these Bloodnames for their Clan.[42]
Bloodnames of Annihilated Clans[edit]
Clan Blood Spirit[edit]
The Blood Spirits were always an isolationist Clan, from their views to their policies. Although the Blood Spirits gained power during the Wars of Reaving, they would also fall just as fast. Unfortunately, the Clan's hatred of the Burrocks would ultimately cause not only their downfall, but their Clan's genetic legacies as well. The Star Adders would repay their feud back tenfold, when the opportunity arose for it. After learning that the Spirits survived the bloody war, the Adders would attack the new planet where they were hiding. Knowing the fact that the Blood Spirits would not fully integrate with their longtime rivals, the Adders would instead opt for a Trial of Annihilation (under the guise of an Absorption) against the Spirits. The Adders would bombard the Clan and their genetic legacies, effectively wiping out the isolationist Clan as a whole.[43]

The death of ilKhan Garret Sainze would echo the death of his Kindraa and his Clan's heritage. Throughout the Wars of Reaving, various Kindraa formed into larger "ilKindraa" to survive. However, attacks on the Blood Chapels, both Inner Sphere and Homeworld-based, led to many legacies being destroyed. The Mandrills would finally be destroyed piecemeal and considered destroyed as of 3075.[45] In 3090, after Star Adder and Stone Lions determined that Fire Mandrill Bloodheritages were free from taint, the Grand Council opened up the former Fire Mandrill genetic legacies for Trials of Possession. The Star Adders won Trials for genetic legacies for 10 former Fire Mandrill Bloodnames, including Carroll, Faraday, and Kreese.[8]
Clan Steel Viper[edit]
Perpetrators of the Wars of Reaving, the Steel Vipers did everything they could to stay in power. Ironically, ilKhan Brett Andrews would cause the demise of his own Clan due to their contact with the Inner Sphere. Although he did not live to see it, his Clan would be Annihilated during the final days of the Wars of Reaving. In an odd twist of fate, however, his Clan's Bloodnames would be absorbed into Clan Star Adder and Clan Stone Lion, while others would live on as shared Bloodnames to the remaining Home Clans due to the lack of genetics that was his legacy.
Clan Wolverine[edit]
After a dispute involving a Brian Cache with Clan Snow Raven had spiraled out of control, the Wolverines were put on trial. Khan Sarah McEvedy criticized ilKhan Nicholas Kerensky and announced their renunciation of Clan society. As a result, the Wolverines became a target for Annihilation by every Clan. Genetic repositories were destroyed and any warriors who had the genes of Clan Wolverine were either executed or committed suicide as part of the sterilization process. This would cause many Wolverine Bloodnames to be destroyed as a result of the Wolverine Annihilation.
