The Bloody Stoats were a mercenary unit with strong ties to the Lyran Alliance.[1]

On 24 October 3067, the Stoats, hired to capture Lyran defector and Free Worlds League General Gurald Eichner in preparation for a Lyran invasion of the League, attempted to hijack the Avenger-class DropShip Requirement near Gienah. Stoats CO Deimos von Schetzle had arranged, through spies in League ranks, for eight Nellus Academy cadets to be aboard.[2] This proved a mistake for the mercenaries. The cadets forcefully resisted the hijacking, leading to the DropShip crashing on nearby Phobos, close to the Stoats' base and the intended base for the Lyran invaders. Fighting continued for two days, until a League force recovered the surviving cadets. In the end, the Stoats, rather than capturing General Eichner as intended, had killed Eichner and half of the cadets, lost most (if not all) of the hijackers and CO Deimos's Commando, suffered severe damage to their base, and allowed Deimos's intelligence-filled noteputer to be taken by the League. The invasion plan was, as a result, exposed to the Free Worlds League.[1]

Largely unknown. Commanding officer Deimos piloted a Commando, until it was lost in the clash with Nellus Academy's cadets.[3]
Emblem and Colors[edit]
The Bloody Stoats wore an emblem of a red stoat on their shoulders.[4] Their only known 'Mech, Deimos's Commando, wore Lyran blue, red, and yellow.[5]
