Colonel Brianna Smyth was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's 29th CAAN Marine Regiment as of 2764.[1]

Smyth was a native of the Rim Worlds Republic, and led a Regiment which was assigned to infiltrate that periphery state while undercover, during the 2 years prior to 2764. This assignment was given by Major General Horst Nunweiler, who believed the next big military emergency would arise in the Republic, and wanted good troops on hand despite his superior General Eliud Felischhauer's concern they would go native.[1]
These suspicions were confirmed when the Twenty-ninth joined the rebels during the Periphery Uprising[2] siding with the Magistracy of Canopus in 2766. The Twenty-ninth survived the Uprising, and in 2785 the regiment was disbanded and used to reactivate the First and Second Canopian Light Horse.[3]
It is not known if Brianna Smyth was one of the mutineers or not and her specific fate is unknown.[citation needed]
