Bryce Anton was the commanding officer of the Anton's Stompers mercenary unit during the Dark Age Era.[1]

Major Anton commanded Anton's Stompers from their base on Fletcher and was known for having augmented his Long Tom Artillery battalion with a company of Clan-designed SM2 vehicles. During a Capellan Confederation-sponsored attack on the planet Sonnia in 3136, Anton's new artillery vehicles proved invaluable during the fighting around the planet's spaceport. The constant barrage laid down by Anton's artillery kept the Federated Suns' militiamen from interfering with the Seventh Capellan Chargers as they destroyed warehouses reportedly filled with military materiel bound for Tikonov. While the raid was a success for Anton's mercenaries and the Chargers, it was later found that they had actually annihilated food and medical supplies bound for Basalt.[2][3]
Despite the flaw in the Sonnia operation, Anton developed a reputation for being the most skilled SM2 artillery commander in the Inner Sphere. Rumors held that he was capable of dismantling and rebuilding one of the machines with his eyes blindfolded and he was known for holding an appreciation for the vehicle that bordered on mania. While his relationship with the SM2 was odd, all of the Stompers' prospective employers knew that Anton was entirely prepared to make the best use of what was an otherwise unremarkable machine.[1]
