Byron Gerber was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's Thirty-fifth BattleMech Division from at least 2762 to 2764.[1]

The senior division commander of XXXVII Corps as of 2764, Major General Gerber had a reputation as a competent but unimaginative commander. Furious at being overlooked for command of XXXVII Corps by General Tatjana Baptiste following the removal of Major General Simone Ffolkes-Smyth, he hoped that his superior Anne Borden would make a mistake grave enough to convince General Baptiste to promote him to replace her.[1]
Gerber also disliked Major General Athena Vasilakis, the most junior division commander in XXXVII Corps, clashing with her in relation to her more flexible ideas regarding strategy.[1]
