The Calderon Institute of Combat is the primary military academy of the Calderon Protectorate.[1]

Recognizing the need for a formal military academy as the Protectorate's separation from the Taurian Concordat effectively became permanent during the Word of Blake Jihad, the nation invested in the creation of the Calderon Institute of Combat which openned its doors in 3084. By 3145, the CIC had doubled in size three times, its MechWarrior, Armor crews and infantry graduates matching the quality of their equivalents from the Concordat.[1]
As of 3145 the CIC's Commandant was Colonel Maxwell Calderon-Anderson, cousin of Protector Sam Calderon and additionally commander of the First Taurian Pride. Under Calderon-Anderson's leadership the CIC stands out as a military academy, in that it does not rely on the standard academic success model for graduates; when selected students are identified as having nontraditional skills, despite academic or operational weaknesses, they receive personal tutoring until graduation, and then often being assigned to the First Taurians.[1]
