The Capella Commonality is the so called "bedrock" of the Capellan Confederation. The Commonality was a peaceful internal region for most of its history; however, during the Fourth Succession War it was transformed into a heavily fortified border region. The war made its citizens fearful of a resumed Federated Commonwealth invasion, a fear that might have been realized had it not been for the Clan Invasion.[1]
Afterwards, with the formation of the Liao Commonality, the Capella Commonality conceded much of their border duties, even though many of their troops still rotated coreward or to one of the new border regions. After spending years regarding the Liao Commonality planets as enemy worlds, it was difficult for many older citizens to place their trust in those new additions to the Confederation.[1]
Citizens of the Capella Commonality pride themselves on their place in the Confederation hierarchy, and in their view, they are guardians of the Confederation's homeworld (Capella).[1]
