Carson "the Professor" Bolling was a notable tank commander in the Third Andurien Guards during the Dark Age Era.[1]

When Deschenes was invaded by an expeditionary force from the Covenant Worlds in 3138, Force Captain Bolling's armor company of the Third Andurien Guards was tasked with securing the Tsongas Pass against attack. Three hours after ordering his tankers to dig in, a combined-arms battalion of Covenant Worlds troops assaulted the pass but were repulsed with moderate casualties by Bolling's entrenched unit. After weathering additional assaults and artillery barrages, Bolling's men earned the ire of the enemy commander and were charged by the entirety of the remaining hostile battalion, only for the offensive to collapse when his tanks' first volley downed the three heaviest BattleMechs facing them. When word of additional Andurien reinforcements reached Bolling's opposite, the Covenant troops retreated from the Tsongas Pass and ultimately quit their attempt to seize Deschenes entirely.[2][3]
Known as the Professor for his scholarly appearance, Bolling was promoted to the rank of major following his successful defense of Tsongas Pass. Befitting his nickname, Bolling was later reassigned to the Humphreys Training Academy to instruct cadets on armored warfare, although his personal combat vehicle remained in service with the Third Andurien Guards following his departure from the unit.[1]
