Carson Jones was a notable armor platoon commander in the Halsten's Brigade mercenary command during the Dark Age Era.[1]
History[edit]
In the middle of 3142, Lieutenant Jones was stationed on Venaria under a contract with the planetary governor when a planetary militia outpost was razed by a mixed force of pirate battle armor and BattleMechs. Jones' platoon was close enough to intercept the pirates before they could return to their DropShip with their stolen goods and engaged the twenty-four armored troopers and four 'Mechs with a quick series of barrages. With only enough time to get off a handful of concentrated attacks, Jones' tankers were able to down a Centurion and damage an Enfield and a Wraith. Although the majority of the pirates escaped, the damage to their 'Mechs successfully destroyed the nets they were using to carry their loot and made the raid an overall loss for the bandits.[2][3]
Jones was personally credited with killing the pirate Centurion and for successfully reading his maps in a way that enabled his slower tanks to intercept the faster raider force. As the latest in a long line of Joneses to serve in Halsten's Brigade, he used his career to regularly demonstrate an aptitude for placing his tanks in just right the spot so as to maximize their combat effectiveness.[1]
