Category talk:Individual Vessel Images
As it stands, most articles (images) in this category are actually sorted into the subcategories. Only those vessels that don't clearly fall into either the DropShip, JumpShip or WarShip image category will default to the overarching "Vessels" category. As a result, the master category will only display the "oddball" images.
If we want all images to show up in the master category as well then all articles need to be categorized accordingly.
I'm not even sure if we want that, with a slight personal preference for not going there. But I don't feel strongly about the issue either way. I just wanted to point out that if we want to change it, now would be a good time as the whole project is still taking off and the subcategories aren't too populated yet. - My intention was that almost all images would go into subcategories, and that this top-level category would only be for those that genuinely don't fit anywhere else - like the AS Columbia, the image for which was what prompted me to start poking around in the uncategorised images area yesterday. I don't think we should add all of the other images to this master category, because I've been told several times that the purpose of Sarna isn't for browsing art galleries, and keeping the images in sub-categories only is administratively neater. I created a Gallery for Spacecraft images based on the existing classification of spacecrafts. There every type has the Individual Images if a ship has been specifically indicated for the image (like painted miniatures for example). This makes this Category obsolete I feel.--Pserratv (talk) 05:01, 10 March 2021 (EST)
