Sergeant Celeste Rio was a MechWarrior with the Hansen's Roughriders mercenary unit during the thirty-first century.[1][2][3][4]
History[edit]
Hesperus II[edit]
Rio participated in the Thirteenth Battle of Hesperus II in 3019, assisting in the Roughriders' defense of the world against Wolf's Dragoons. During this battle, when Dragoon Natasha Kerensky was on a rampage in her Warhammer and destroying more than a dozen 'Mechs, one of the last units Kerensky faced was Rio's medium lance. As the rest of her lance was destroyed, selfless courage drove Rio to throw herself against the attackers, but Kerensky respected her courage and only disabled her 'Mech.[4]
Shiloh[edit]
In 3025 the then MechWarrior Rio was assigned to a Fire Lance within Hansen's Roughriders. She was well known at that point due to a battle on the Free Worlds League world of Shiloh while under contract to the Lyran Commonwealth, when during a combat drop she destroyed two aerospace fighters, before a rough landing on the surface.
The engagement however left her with a bionic arm, and a colder, more uncaring personality. Though several generous offers to transfer to other units followed her injury, she instead chose semiretirement, training new recruits for the Roughriders with the rank of Sergeant.[1][2][3]

Rio was known to pilot a Shadow Hawk BattleMech.[1][2][3][4]
