Charles Danning was a thirteen-year-old kid orphaned during the Word of Blake invasion on New Avalon.[1]

FSNS made a report on his history years in 3074, explaining his hard living and scrounging in Avalon City's ruins. Losing both parents, he kept his head down and did their best to survive (as an estimated ten thousand children under the age of fifteen who lost one or both parents during the invasion). He learned to sneak around and eat things that wouldn't have eaten before for a million pounds and saw bad people do bad things. He hadn't a good night's sleep in two years.
His Aunt and Uncle, who lived on a farm some fifty kilometers north of Avalon City, and managed to survive will be taking care of him. Once he grew up he said he would be enlisting in the AFFS and kill Wobbies.[1]
