Christine Jax was an officer in the Fourth Tau Ceti Rangers during the Fourth Succession War.[1]
History[edit]
In 3029, the Fourth Tau Ceti Rangers were deployed to Bethel in order to provide a diversion for Capellan Confederation Special Forces troops raiding the planet's secret New Avalon Institute of Science research facility. Captain Jax, commanding elements of the Fourth Rangers' First and Second Battalions, engaged with the Davion Light Guards' Delta Company near the city of Oakland. Delta's acting commander Leftenant Robert Craon quickly realized that Jax's forces were intended to cover up an assault against the NAIS facility and planned his unit's response around breaking through the Rangers' lines. When a trio of Craon's Von Luckner tanks appeared behind the Rangers, a panicked recruit informed Jax that an entire company of heavy tanks was threatening her rear. Rather than risk her troops' destruction for the sake of a diversionary assault, Jax made the decision to retreat back to the Fourth Rangers' DropShips, losing just two BattleMechs in the course of the battle.[1]
While Jax's attack only inflicted light losses on the defending Guards, the raid on the NAIS facility under Justin Xiang Allard met with strong success. Delta Company's Command Lance, left behind to defend both Fort David and the NAIS facility, was completely disabled by Allard's team before the Capellans absconded with an experimental formula for triple-strength myomer.[1]
