Planetary History[edit]
During the final years of the Star League, Cirebon served as the headquarters world for the XIII Corps of the Star League Defense Forces.[30]
Cirebon was the home to a large chemical industry that imported rare earths from Alula Australis.[31]
Dark Age[edit]
Cirebon benefitted from the collapse of the League, enjoying a profitable seventy years of independence thanks to its industrial exports to neighboring worlds. A combination of distance and adroit diplomacy ensured that the larger successor states of the League respected Cirebon's autonomy.[28]
ilClan Era[edit]
In November 3151 Cirebon was approached by an envoy from the Duchy of Andurien seeking to annex the world as it was in the process of doing with Cirebon's neighbors. The Councillor for Foreign Affairs was able to utilise Andurien secrets obtained from a datapad carelessly left behind by the envoy to blackmail him into leaving Cirebon empty-handed. While this would not guarantee Cirebon's independence in the long-term, for the time being Cirebon was able to escape being absorbed into Andurien as other free systems nearby had been.[28]

The database of the (apocryphal) 1989 video game MechWarrior, set around the year 3025, gives a population of 4.631 billion for Cirebon and describes the environment as "tropical" (out of only three broad impressions of planetary environments given in the game, these being "desert," "ice," and "tropical"). The one-line description reads "Large computer and aerospace industries." |
