Clan Language

Clan Language was a book written by Winfred Schleicher and published by Donegal Publishing Associates regarding the special details of Clan Language, a variation of Star League English.[1]

Overview[edit]

First Edition[edit]

Published in 3053 it contained all information that Schleicher had been able to gather at that time.[1]

Second Edition[edit]

After extensive field research among the so-called Clan Wolf-in-Exile, as well as firsthand interviews with members of Clans Ghost Bear and Diamond Shark in the Inner Sphere and with numerous Homeworld Clansmen during the first Babylon Diet as he spent a lot of time at the Second Star League embassy on Strana Mechty and accompanying Father Mircea Ilionescu to the Babylon Diet that Clan Cloud Cobra hosted in Babylon, he was able to make a lot of corrections on the original book, publishing the second edition in 3070.[1]

Experts though valued the new additions to the book:

  • A chapter on the growing though still minimal differences between the Inner Sphere Clan and Home Clan dialects.[1]
  • A revised chapter on Clan battle language.[1]
  • An examination of the linguistic differences between the various castes of Clan society.[1]
  • A brief survey of the dialectical of the individual Clans.[1]
  • An extensive bibliography and detailed index constitute the back matter of this tome.[1]
