Clifton Schroeder was an officer of the LCAF and LAAF during the Civil War Era.[2]
History[edit]
Clifton was a minor noble from Goetville with limited combat experience but excellent family connections and wealth. He was the stereotypical Lyran Social General.[2]
Prior to the LAAF shakeup under Archon's Order 5730023, Clifton was the deputy commander of the Third Lyran Guards. Following Hauptmann-General Günter Hillam's "promotion" to the Strategies and Tactics Division, Clifton was given command of the Arcturan Guards. A noted pro-Katherine officer, this promotion was very politically motivated. A stern disciplinarian who placed effectiveness and efficiency above tradition, he was not well liked among the Guards which viewed him as a "hatchet man" installed by Katherine to ensure loyalty. Despite this they have grudgingly acknowledged that his administrative skills have greatly improved the unit's supply situation.[3][2]
He was killed during the Battle of Tharkad in mysterious circumstances. Rumored causes varied from suicide to silencing by pro-Katherine operatives in order to prevent disclosure of one of her dark secrets.[1].
