The Coalition of Farmers was a trade association with members on several systems across the Inner Sphere.

History[edit]

Inferno's Wake[edit]

In 3015, a wave of Black Inferno attacks in Federated Suns space left numerous farm worlds undefended, and the Vogel's Vandals pirate band saw an opportunity to raid and regularly terrorize a vulnerable agricultural complex on Keytesville, stealing everything they could get their hands on and destroying everything else. Clinging to what little they had left and pooling their funds, the Coalition of Farmers hired a mercenary outfit to push back against the Vandals until their forces were depleted, forcing them to return to their home base to repair and regroup. The farmers picked up the location listening in on radio chatter, and fearing the Vandals' return for revenge later, they extended their contract with the mercenaries to include assassinating their leader. Afterward, the remaining Vandals chose to flee the region, leaving the farmers free to work their fields in peace.[1]

Meanwhile, the neighboring systems of Verde and Quincy were less fortunate. These were simple farming and extraction planets but still contained valuable resources that opportunists were looking to acquire. Interstellar Expeditions hired a mercenary unit to stage diversionary raids, occupying the local militias so that its salvage crews could be sent planetside to get what they needed. Quincy's primary comm center was destroyed and a militia garrison complex was demolished on Verde.[2]

Cole Harbour[edit]

Sometime later, Black Inferno attacked the main population center of the Coalition of Farmers on Cole Harbour. This was consistent with their pattern of driving civilian populations off of sites that had been discovered to be long-lost Star League Defense Force bases and supply depots so that they could excavate them and pillage whatever they could find. The Coalition sent out an open contract to anyone willing to intervene and Nik's Cavaliers answered, already having their own reasons to take them down a peg. The Inferno forces were repelled and an advanced exploration team from Interstellar Expeditions was sent to investigate and survey the area to see if there really was a Star League facility of some kind on the planet.[3]
