Corean Enterprises MacAdams-Suharno was an independent Free Worlds League subsidiary of multinational BattleMech manufacturer Corean Enterprises.[2]
Overview[edit]
Once the third largest non–Terran Hegemony based military contractor in the Star League, the Succession Wars resulted in the loss of all but two facilities: the headquarters on New Avalon and a satellite facility on Stewart. Corean's multinational status caused no end of headaches as cash profits could not be directly transferred between branches, and both the Federated Suns and FWL governments enforced strict controls to prevent advanced and exclusive technology developed in their realms leaking to the other House.[2]
While not on par with the Federated Suns plant located close to the New Avalon Institute of Science, the MacAdams-Suharno plant on Stewart was also a hotbed of technological development. A chance decision to select the maligned Goliath as the most stable testbed for the newly recovered gauss rifle in the 3040s led to the Stewart plant championing the cause of creating brand new four-legged 'Mechs and its development of the light Gauss rifle with Imperator Automatic Weaponry. Local minority ownership of the facility and the production of vital components used by Irian BattleMechs and Earthwerks-FWL designs ensure a degree of protection for the heavy tax burden imposed on other multinationals operating in the Free Worlds League.[1]
Manufacturing[edit]
Corean Enterprises MacAdams-Suharno has manufacturing centers on the following planets:
Futuna[edit]
Corean collaborated with General Motors in 3080 to convert an IndustrialMech plant on Futuna into one capable of producing BattleMechs.[3] After only a short time, the factory reverted to producing IndustrialMechs due to the skyrocketing demand for reconstruction.[4]
Components produced on Futuna:[3][4] | |
---|---|
Component | Type |
BattleMechs | |
MN1-D Sarissa[3] | Medium BattleMech |
MN2-A Sarissa[4] | Medium SecurityMech |
Stewart[edit]
The Stewart facility took 60% damage in the Jihad and was operating at 65% capacity in 3079, the Sirocco and Tarantula lines lying inactive.[5] Stewart was retaken by the Free Worlds League in 3152.
