Major Coshasa DuKirk was an officer in Alpha Regiment of Wolf's Dragoons between 3024 and 3029.[2][3]

History[edit]

Early Career[edit]

DuKirk was not an original Dragoon sourced from the Clans, but rather a foreigner who signed on after meeting Jaime Wolf in a Dieron Hiring Hall during the Dragoons' service with House Kurita in 3024, who ultimately became commander of Alpha Regiment's Charlie Battalion.[2][4]

DuKirk's service before the Dragoons was with the Combine-based Fire Lizard mercenary regiment, who she had spend most of her life with, but had become defunct by the time she was looking for a new employer.[3]

Misery[edit]

She was known for leading her battalion with distinction, as well as her late night poker games with her captains, which she usually won. DuKirk's luck usually extended to the battlefield, but it ran out during the Battle of Misery, where her command lance was cut off and wiped out by Draconis Combine forces. DuKirk herself survived, though her 'Mech was badly damaged, and her fellow Dragoon survivors became suspicious of her loyalty (though she was not Combine-born).[2]

Glenmora[edit]

Following the Dragoons' reorganization after Misery, DuKirk assumed command of Alpha Regiment's Second Provisional Company, which she led during the battle on Glenmora in 3029. During this engagement, she was promoted to temporary regimental command by then Major Kelly Yukinov in Jaime Wolf's absence, which nearly turned the hostility towards her into rebellion.

She however retained control of her troops during a dramatic confrontation, and subsequently showed her loyalty and valor during the remainder of the campaign.[2] This confrontation involved DuKirk placing a dagger at her own throat, and promising to kill herself if anyone truly wanted to accuse her of disloyalty, an invitation which no-one present took up.[3]

Her first action as regimental commander on Glenmora was unleashing the Black Widow Company under Natasha Kerensky against the Galedon Regulars, who enjoyed great success.[5] She later returned command to Jaime Wolf, who returned to Glenmora at the same time enemy reinforcements from the Sixteenth Galedon Regulars arrived.

After months of back and forth between Davion and Kurita forces, DuKirk's Second Provisional Company caught a company from the Sixteenth Galedon Regulars, enjoying initial success with the destruction of four enemy 'Mechs. However just as DuKirk expected the regulars to break, two additional regulars companies appeared on her flanks. While DuKirk attempted to order a retreat, her 'Mech was felled as she was killed by massed fire from three Combine 'Mechs, before the entire Second Provisional Company was utterly annihilated.[4][6]

BattleMech[edit]

DuKirk was known to initially pilot a BattleMaster BattleMech, which was badly damaged on Misery. She subsequently fought in a Crusader until her death on Glenmora.[2]
