The Crossing was a Trutzburg-class DropShip owned and operated by the mercenary unit Wolf's Dragoons.

History[edit]

Along with its sister ships Glenmora and Misery, the Crossing was initially assigned to the Black Cats, a battalion of Wolf's Dragoon's Gamma Regiment, and it carried them to the Battle of Terra. After the Black Cats were annihilated, the DropShips were put in reserve, though they didn't stay inactive for long.

Major Haya Tetsuhara, under orders to resurrect the long gone Zeta Battalion, took the ships for his reborn unit, becoming their transports and artillery platforms, on 21 October 3151.[1]

Soon after, they carried Zeta on its first contract, invading the Wolf Empire under contract to the Duchy of Tamarind. On 1 January 3152, on Labouchere, their artillery made short work of the Wolf garrison, departing immediately. On the second target, Alula Borealis, they didn't need to fire a single shot. On the third, Trellisane, the same. Having completed their contract, in March Zeta returned immediately to their secret base on Ilion.[2]

The DropShip saw much more action in its next mission, a raid on Gienah, capital of the Empire, in June. Posing as Free Guilds ships, they arrived undetected, but once on land, they had plenty of targets: after the Wolves landed their Union-C DropShips nearby, the Trutzburgs' guns quickly destroyed one on the ground, and a second when it attempted to take off. The Wolves were forced to retreat.[3]

After jumping and carrying Zeta to Alliago City, the Wolf capital, all three DropShips used their artillery to ensure Zeta's victory before departing.[4]
