System History[edit]

Planetary History[edit]
Star League[edit]
After the "Birthday Proclamations" of 2755, Damian was the host to a Star League Defense Force garrison.[41]
Third Succession War[edit]
Pirate forces raided Damien in 2902 and engaged elements of the Ninth Sun Zhang Academy Cadre on planet for maneuvers. In six hours of pitched battle three old Thunderbolts standing in the middle of Lake Omenshoufter withstood an assault by at least ten 'Mechs of various types sent against them by the pirate commander. The raiders withdrew when reinforcements from Damian's capital arrived on the scene, forced to their DropShips and leaving the planet empty-handed.[42]
Clan Invasion[edit]
Damian was conquered in March 3050 by Clan Ghost Bear as part of the First Wave of Operation REVIVAL. At the time the planet was defended by Black Omen, a mercenary company, against whom the attacking Thirty-fourth Striker Trinary of the Eighth Bear Cuirassiers expected an easy victory. After six days of fruitless searching though it was determined the mercenaries had fled rather than face the might of the Ghost Bears and the planet was declared conquered. In truth, recognizing they could not defeat their opponent in open combat, the mercenaries instead chose to hide, waiting for the main force to pass. The small garrison left behind on Damian was easily overrun when the Black Omen reemerged two months later during the Second Wave of the invasion.[43]
In response to this uprising, the Ghost Bear Clan's entire Beta Galaxy, aboard the WarShip Bear's Den, was dispatched to the planet on 17 May. Within seconds of their arrival however a rogue asteroid struck the ship, not only severely damaging it but destroying one of the attached DropShips and wiping out an entire Cluster. The remaining Beta Galaxy warriors abandoned the Bear's Den and proceed on to Damian, where they succeeded in nearly destroying the Black Omen and returning the planet to Ghost Bear control. Some elements of the Black Omen were able to escape off world.[44]
First Combine-Dominion War[edit]
Operating out of Wolcott during the First Combine-Dominion War (3062 to 3063), the Black Omen mercenary unit secretly penetrated the Ghost Bear Dominion to raid Pinnacle, Holmsbu, and Thule where they disabled each planet's HPG and destroyed several supply depots. The Black Omen mercenaries also returned to Damian where they once again overran the defending Ghost Bear garrison. This time though they destroyed supply depots and repair facilities before raising a large flag showing the unit's logo over the planet's capital city. They then fled the planet with as much booty as they could carry.[45]
The Jihad[edit]
In March 3076, Damian was the fourth of four Ghost Bear Dominion worlds to be raided by Clan Ice Hellion stragglers after the failed Ice Hellion invasion of the Clan Jade Falcon Occupation Zone several years before. It was on Damian that Rasalhague KungsArmé units finally managed to pin down the raiders.[33][34]
