System Description[edit]
The Deneb Algedi system consists of four planets orbiting a stellar class F6VI primary star, and is located near the Nashira and Nirasaki systems.[2][3]
System History[edit]
The Deneb Algedi system was settled at some point during or shortly after the First Exodus from Terra and had been incorporated into the Alliance of Galedon by the time the Draconis Combine formed.[4]

Deneb Algedi II, more commonly known simply as Deneb Algedi, is the second planet in the system.[1]
Planetary History[edit]
Settled at some point before the end of the Age of War, Deneb Algedi was one of the worlds within the Lone Star Province of the Terran Hegemony by the end of the Age of War.[41][7] Deneb Algedi, a predominantly arid world with deserts covering over two-thirds of its land, initially seemed inhospitable. Colonists from Terra's African and South American continents, seeking refuge from Terran government oppression, chose the water-poor planet to build a new life. However, early surveys, conducted by remote drones, overlooked the dominant life form: the aggressive nayaraptor, a territorial airborne predator with a wingspan of nearly two meters. Though, the nayaraptor posed a significant threat to settlers, hunting singly and attacking the first colonists. Over time, organized hunts for the nayaraptor became a necessity, evolving into a sport as the colonists established towns and cities. By 3130, the nayaraptor is the focus of a thriving game industry, attracting safari enthusiasts. The island continent of Ombanwe, with giant hunting ranges, is a prime destination for hunting these predators.[1]
Jihad[edit]
Deneb Algedi was incorporated into the Word of Blake Protectorate during the Jihad, but by March 3077 had been liberated. However, the liberation of Deneb Algedi caused controversy in its' own right, as the allied coalition chose to garrison Deneb Algedi and the nearby - and also recently liberated - world of Telos IV with garrison forces from the Federated Suns. Where the DCMS had intended to deploy the Toguran Military Garrison and the New Samarkand Militia to garrison the worlds, these Combine forces were instead deployed to recently liberated worlds on the Free Worlds League front instead. Deneb Algedi found itself being garrisoned by the Valexa Capellan March Militia, an act which drew protests from Gunji-no-Kanrei Kiyomori Minamoto to General Belle Lee of the allied coalition.[34]

Geography[edit]
The larger supercontinent on Deneb Algedi is Librios, hosts most of the planetary population and main cities. The island continent of Ombanwe is situated in Deneb Algedi's equatorial region and west of Librios, features vast deserts and dried-out river basins. The Batambu Chain, an island chain consisting of six large rocky islands, stretches from Librios' southeast to Ombanwe's western shores.[1]
Planetary Locations[edit]
- Hunter's Den: a resort city on the southeastern coast of Ombanwe; the only major human settlement on the continent in the thirty-second century[1]
- Nueva Santiago: the planetary capital city, located in a lush river valley on the northwestern edge of Librios[1]
- San Luerdes: site of the largest DropPort on the planet and a sprawling commercial city in its own right; located a few dozen kilometers from Nueva Santiago[1]
- The Batambu Chain islands: this is where the planetary defense forces maintain installations, barracks, and weapons test ranges[1]
