Derrik Evans was the commanding officer of the Dynasty Guard Cavalry as of 3063.[2]

Sang-shao Evans, serving with the Dynasty Guard, was stationed on Liao in 3063 and remained there by 3067.[2][3] During the Federated Commonwealth Civil War, Evans lead an armored battalion alongside a Dynasty Guard's BattleMech force and the mercenary Hell's Black Aces in battle against the Blackwind Lancers on Chesterton. As the Aces forced the Lancers' DropShip to land on Chesterton, Evans combined his forces with the Guard's 'Mechs in order to create combined-arms units capable of locking the Lancers' ground troops in place. As the Lancers' Third Battalion got bogged down, Evans personally entered the fray and managed to eliminate three tanks and two BattleMechs before his own vehicle was disabled. Subsequently, Lancers reinforcements arrived and demolished a significant portion of the Dynasty Guard's forces.[1]
Evans once again entered combat when the Eighth Syrtis Fusiliers invaded Liao as part of Operation SOVEREIGN JUSTICE at the beginning of the Jihad. The Dynasty Guards fought holding actions for several months before Evans was able to spearhead a flanking attack that shattered the Fusiliers lines. When word of the orbital bombing of Sian reached the Guards, the enraged unit viciously assaulted the Fusiliers, leaving a decimated force to retreat off-world. By the time the Guards recovered from the Federated Suns' invasion, the Word of Blake arrived with assault plans of their own. Evans' men formed the point of the Capellan counter-attack and when the Blakists matched his ferocity with their own, Evans gave his life in a successful bid to give the Dynasty Guard enough time to force the Word of Blake off Liao.[1]
