Planetary History[edit]

The Bronco, an Model 97 Octopus-class tug DropShip, was responsible for the rescue of the Monarch-class DropShip liner Dalton Star in 3055 in the Diass system. In common with other ships of the class the Bronco had enough short-stay spaces in the various cabins aboard to evacuate the entirety of the crew and passenger manifest of the Dalton Star before beginning recovery operations, allowing the Bronco to subsequently recover the ship.[27]

Jihad[edit]

In mid-February 3077, the Fourth Regulan Hussars were deployed to Diass by the Principality of Regulus, and immediately began a concerted and widespread public relations campaign to reassure the local population and win hearts and minds, working against a backdrop of trepidation and suspicion that the Hussars' presence would invariably bring conflict to the Regulan Free States. With the occupation of Diass, units of the Regulan Hussars were present on every world in the Regulan Free States, attracting accusations of expansionism and aggressive posturing from other nations such as the Marik Commonwealth and the Duchy of Oriente. Meanwhile, on the streets of Diass City, Gurkha infantry were patrolling without armor and armed solely with kukri, demonstrating utter confidence to the local population.[21]
