Hauptmann Dieter Shackle was one of the premier cold weather warfare instructors among the "White Bears of Uther," a unit famous for their cold weather operations. Shackle would delight in dispelling MechWarriors of the belief that extreme cold was ideal for such notoriously hot combat vehicles.[1]
