Don "Furluge" Scherig was a notable MechWarrior in the First Davion Guards during the Dark Age Era.[1]

Captain Scherig was named for an ancestor who fought in both Operation BULLDOG and the Federated Commonwealth Civil War alongside First Prince Victor Steiner-Davion. Scherig carried on that legacy and followed Julian Davion to the Lyran Commonwealth, surviving the brutal fighting against Clan Wolf before following Davion as part of both Task Force Navarre and Operation CERBERUS. After being badly wounded during the fighting on New Syrtis in 3148, Scherig took time off to recover from his injuries and to upgrade his BattleMech. He soon rejoined the First Davion Guards during the third wave of Operation PERCEVAL, just in time to join the fighting on Coloma against the Fifth Sword of Light. The First Guards' swift flanking maneuver saved the First Avalon Hussars from routing and Scherig's company was in the heart of the fight against the Fifth Sword's 301st Armor Regiment. His decision to upgrade his 'Mech proved wise during the battle, as he personally eliminated four vehicles in the same amount of minutes.[1]
BattleMech[edit]
Captain Don Scherig piloted a Nightstar BattleMech, which he upgraded to -10D model standards following his wounding on New Syrtis.[1]
