Donald Baines was a member of the Imperial Guards, charged with protecting the security of Coordinator Yoguchi Kurita's bedchamber, as of 2850.[1][2]

As one of the people responsible for the security of Coordinator Yoguchi Kurita, while he was living in his palace on Luthien, Talon Sergeant Baines was later in history identified as a potential accomplice in his assassination by the Lyran Intelligence Corps operative known as Snow Fire on 12 December 2850.
For example one author, ComStar Precentor Ivan Fresterton, later speculated Baines may have actually been a Federated Suns Ministry of Information, Intelligence, and Operations operative known as "The Footman".[1][2]
