Description[edit]

The Dragoon battle armor was designed as a versatile combatsuit for Wolf's Dragoons' Seventh Kommando. Originally designed for combat engineering operations in high-risk environments, the battle armor provides heavy protection while maintaining the ease of movement found in lighter suits. The suit is noted for being extremely easy to "don and doff," using a two-part system developed by Wolf's Dragoons. Operators wear a bodysuit with gauntlets, boots, and full-head helmet that lock into place in the suit and interface with its electronics.[2]

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

The Standard Dragoon Battle Armor was equipped with a light mortar and a flamer making it ideal for anti-infantry operations. In addition, it carried jump jets and a diamond-tipped heavy battle claw, allowing for quick movement through broken terrain plus leg and swarm attacks on BattleMechs.[2]

Variants[edit]

  • Advanced
This version of the Dragoon Battle Armor was used exclusively by Wolf's Dragoons. It offers better protection than the Standard suit by using ClanTech armor and swaps the flamer for a micro pulse laser.[2]

Notes[edit]

  • The Dragoon Battle Armor originates from MechAssault 2 as the player's battle armor. In MechAssault 2, the battle armor was equipped with a hacking tool.[3] Recognition Guide: ilClan, vol. 29 describes a similar tool which was integrated in early prototypes only but later removed.[2] The MA2 player character was also profiled in the notable troopers section as "The MechWarrior," with a loose description of the game's Dante opening included.
