Duran "Bootleg" Daley was a notable tank operator in the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns during the Civil War Era and the Jihad Era.[1]
History[edit]
Private Daley initially served as a vehicle technician before the high attrition rates of the Federated Commonwealth Civil War lead to him being reassigned as a tank operator. When his tank's engine was destroyed in 3065, Daley salvaged a 300 fusion engine from a disabled BattleMech and worked until it was compatible with his machine. Afterwards, Daley continued to augment his vehicle with additional armor and upgraded weapon systems. When the Word of Blake invaded New Avalon at the onset of the Jihad, Sergeant Daley's tank was destroyed in the heavy fighting, although his status remained unknown.[1]
