E. Dryer was a Marshal in command of the Thirteenth Avalon Hussars until 2786.[1]

Marshal Dryer was one of the few Armed Forces of the Federated Suns officers, who before the First Succession War, argued that an invasion by the Draconis Combine was the main threat the Federated Suns faced. He was so vociferous in these views, that he was court-martialed and demoted to colonel, after he physically assaulted a a field marshal who disagreed with him.
The then Colonel Dryer was however proved right in the most tragic circumstances, becoming one of the first killed by the Combine invasion, when it commenced in May 2787.[1]
